About us

The Pro-Am student committee is a sub-committee of PADC which comprises teachers and organisers and was launched in February 2023. The aim of the student group is to help facilitate effective discussion between students, teachers and organisers to enhance the Pro-Am experience for all. We would like to achieve a level of standardisation and to have a common code of conduct where possible. We would like to invite Pro-Am students to take up free membership so we can come together to share our experiences and suggestions and organise some student driven events such as training camps, socials, dance dress sales, hair and makeup courses and more.

 

We aim to enable positive changes to the existing structure of competitions in order to enhance the events, to increase the number of competitors and to develop a stronger Pro-Am community through wider inclusivity. We plan to proactively gather students’ views on a regular basis through surveys, polls, etc.

 

The committee is comprised of volunteers who compete in Pro-Am events at all levels and who bring a range of expertise from their non-dancing backgrounds. The first group of committee members are meeting on a 3-month trial basis with the aim of rotating members on a regular basis.
